Indian Movies is Jeri’s second selection of poems. In it, she shows her versatility with styles demonstrating passion as well as craft.

The collection opens with descriptive poems about places and seasons, then moves to the more volatile area of human relationships. Most of the book deals with ties that hold people together: romantic, familial, social. Poems about love and lust range from the analytic to the passionate, from the controlled to the vulnerable. In the final section she explores her personal experience of India and her relatives there. She captures the exotic contrasts, the tragedy and comedy of that inexplicable country.

“Kroll’s verse is freely handled, her language precise in metaphor, but easy in movement - an ease not to be achieved without considerable art.”
